Mike has trained hundreds of high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. His focus: add strength and power, while maintaining speed and mobility. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Mike played both baseball and football (nose guard) at Campbell High School, and led his football team to their first state playoff appearance in 2007. Mike continued his football career at Jacksonville State as a preferred walk-on, where he would earn a full scholarship and complete his Bachelors in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Nutrition.
Mike helped Jacksonville achieve two conference championships, and became part of the famous 2010 team that beat Ole Miss in double OT. After suffering a career-ending injury his senior season, he continued as a Student-Assistant Coach for Tight Ends.
After graduating in 2011, Mike returned to school to begin a Masters in Physical Education: Exercise and Wellness at Eastern Kentucky University. He was a Graduate Assistant in the Strength and Conditioning facility at Kentucky Adapted Physical Education (KAPE), where he worked with children with disabilities. Mike also served as the Head Strength Coach for Track and Field, Competition Squads, Tennis, and Women’s Golf. Furthermore, he completed an internship at Kennesaw State University assisting their Strength and Conditioning program before graduating with his Masters in 2013.
Most recently, Mike transitioned from Champions Sports Performance based out of Lake Norman, North Carolina where he served as Director of Sports Performance for six years. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, USAW- level 1 Coach, Performance Enhancement Specialist, and holds the Parisi Speed Specialist Certification. He is also a Dry Land Specialist, safely training elite swimmers to become more explosive athletes in the water.
